Postcards!

A couple times a year I mail postcards to announce an upcoming art show or group of shows I’m doing.

(I say a “couple” because it’s been exactly two per year for several years now. But maybe some year I’ll do three. I’m leaving myself some wriggle room here. Anyway, it’s not much mail. Very non-spammy.)

You are totally missing out if you’re not getting my postcards. They’re free to you, and each features a new painting in full glorious glossy color. Some people frame them and hang them up. I think that’s great! Heck, after a few years you’ll have a nice little grouping for that odd empty corner where nothing else fits.

If you’re not getting my postcards, you should get in on the action. What’s to lose?

Postcards for everyone

About once a year I send out a postcard to everyone on my mailing list. Everyone! All over the world!

If you didn’t get a postcard from me, I don’t have your address. Maybe you gave it to me but I typed it in wrong. Maybe you moved. Or maybe (gasp!) you never gave it to me.

New Painting: “Satwiwa 2”

The complex undulations of the hills and meadows at Satwiwa caught my eye. (I’ve blogged about Satwiwa before, here.) It seemed the intriguing shape of the land was just begging to be captured in a painting. So I did, and this painting, Satwiwa 2, is the result.

I was so pleased with this painting that I chose it for my second postcard mailing of the year. This is the first year I’m sending out multiple postcards. Previously my habit was at most a single postcard mailing in any given year. But that’s just not enough. So this is The Year of Many Postcards! (Well, 3 or 4 anyway.)

If you received one of these postcards from me, congratulations! You’re on my mailing list, and I have your correct mailing address.

If you didn’t receive a postcard, either you never gave me your address, or you moved, or I typed it in wrong. In any case, it means I don’t have your correct address. Horrors!

Fear not! This is an easy problem to remedy. Just send me an email (info@barbarajcarter.com) or pop over to my Contact web page and type your address into the handy form there. Then you’ll be on my mailing list for sure, and you won’t miss any future mailings.

I don’t send out a lot of material by postal mail. It’s time consuming and costly. But once in a while (maybe once or twice a year) I do send out postcards. They’re very nice postcards. You’ll like them. They always show one of my newest paintings, and look better than the images online. (Of course the actual paintings themselves look even better in person than in any photograph.)
